Result 5: Digital training for the construction and finishing trades

The Digital training for the construction and finishing trades focuses on providing comprehensive training for SMEs in the construction and finishing trades on the digital transformation. Despite the availability of digital models and tools, digitalisation in the industry is slow, particularly in Germany and the partner countries of Latvia, Poland and Hungary.

The training programme includes concepts, curricula, teaching materials and an examination regulation based on the EU action plan for digital education and the European digital competence framework (DIG COMP). It contains several modules that correspond to levels 4 to 6 of the DIG COMP. The programme is divided into several blocks at the training institution, supplemented by practical learning phases at the workplace and an accompanying coaching process. The qualification is achieved by integrating best practices for digital technologies and tools.

The target groups are SME owners and professionals who acquire comprehensive knowledge of digital transformation and its application through the programme. The structure and pedagogy of the programme, which promotes the practical application of digital technologies during the training, is particularly innovative.

The main impacts are: a) comprehensive training for SMEs and their employees on the digital transformation, b) a practice-oriented training and coaching programme for broad regional application, and c) significant increases in efficiency and attractiveness in the construction industry. The result is fully transferable and is being tested and implemented in various countries.
